Another Year in the Books

Reflecting back on 2023, I’d say it was a pretty fun year! I’ve said it many times before at our gigs; there is only one thing more fun than playing Big Band Music with your friends, and that is playing Big Band Music with your friends for your friends. Our band would like to thank you for the support you provided this past year. We had a great time playing for you all and we hope you had an equally great time listening! Thank you to Homer’s for allowing us to play and for booking us again in 2024. A successful live music presentation requires the participation of three parties; the host, the band and most important of all, you, the listener. Thanks again for coming out and supporting us! Moon City Entertainment wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to kicking off 2024 with you all at Homer’s on January 6.

  1. Darrell Rupp. Took off for winter, I’m a fair weather fan. I was 10 in 1935, sort of the beginning of the big band era. Bands such as Ben Pollock, Cab Calloway, Kay Kyser. Also the great KC jazz time. As a teenager I would listen to WWL New Orleans to big bands atop the Hotel Roosevelt at bedtime and to Frank Daley’s Meadowbrook on the Newark-Pomton turnpike at 2:00 Saturday afternoons. Also many of those old wax 78 rpm records. Love most all music but mostly those Big Bands.
